Chants

From World Chants by Circle of Love

1. Islamic Call to Prayer (Jamal Rahman)

Allah hu Akbar Allah hu Akbar
Ashhadu anna La ila ha il lal lah
Ashhadu anna Muhammadan rasul Allah
Hayya ala salat
Hayya ala falah
Allah hu Akbar Allah hu Akbar
La ila ha il lal lah

How splendid and majestic is the glory of God
I bear witness to the truth that all is one
I also bear witness that Muhammad is a messenger of the Beloved
O please awaken and be in prayer
O please redeem yourself of yourself
God is so wondrous, so all-embracing
Truly, all is ONE

Nur-e-Khoda Nur-e-Khoda
Nur-e-Allah Nur-e-Allah
Bismillah Bismillah Bismillah
La ila ha il lal lah

O light of God, all embracing light,
so tender, compassionate and merciful
truly nothing but the light is real.
(This chant is from the Sufi family lineage
of the Hedayatullahs in Bangladesh)
